Helene Drießen (born September 18, 1876 in Bocholt as Helene Dübigk ; † May 30, 1938 ibid) was a German politician ( center ).

Live and act

Dübigk attended elementary school and a high school in Bocholt. From 1892 to 1894 she prepared in the Ursuline convent in Nijmegen in the Netherlands for the teacher examination for elementary, secondary and middle schools for girls, which she passed in November 1894 with the government in Münster . In the following years she trained in Antwerp (1895–1896) and Paris (1896–1897). In 1899 she married the civil servant Theodor Drießen and took his family name. In 1913 she became chairwoman of the Catholic German Women's Association (KDFB) in Bocholt and a member of the central committee of the KDFB, and later also a member of the board of the Catholic school organization in Prussia. She was also a member of the local district welfare association and youth welfare office.

In 1920 Drießen joined the Provincial Board of the Westphalian Center Party , where she sat until 1932. From 1921 to 1933 she was a member of the Westphalian Provincial Parliament . From 1930 to 1932 she served as the chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Advisory Council of the Center in Westphalia and was also a member of the Reichsparteiaommittee of the entire party. She was also a deputy member of the Prussian State Council from 1921 to 1933 . She was also a member of the Reich Committee of the Catholic School Organization in Germany.

On January 17, 1931, Drießen entered the Reichstag as a replacement for the deceased center politician Carl Herold , in which she henceforth represented constituency 17 (North Westphalia). Her mandate was confirmed in the Reichstag election of July 1932 , so that she was a member of the parliament of the Weimar Republic for almost twenty-two months from January 1931 to the elections in November 1932.
