Helene Herzog (born June 27, 2001 in Vienna ) is an Austrian hockey player . She plays at the AHTC Vienna and in the Austrian women's national team .

Career

society

Helene Herzog started playing hockey as a youth at HC Vienna. In spring 2016 she was old enough for the women's team and made her debut on April 17, 2016 at the age of 14 years and 293 days in a game against the Vienna AC . In the games against Post SV Wien and against HC Wiener Neudorf, you scored the decisive hits in the respective penalty shootouts. At the end of the season, the women's team took third place in the table. In the first full field season for women (2016/17) she scored two goals, but had to take a break due to an injury in the spring. In the first full indoor season (2016/17), Herzog was just able to hold the league with HC Wien and scored six goals. In 2018 she went to Whangarei Girls High School in Whangarei New Zealand for one season . After her return to Vienna, she switched to the AHTC, with which she became Austrian women's champion on the field in the 2018/19 season.

National team

Herzog has been working for Austrian youth selections since 2016. She took part in the EuroHockey5s Future Heroes Cup 2016 and was voted both the most successful goalscorer and the best player. In the same year she was part of the Austrian U18 selection that took 7th place at the B-EM in Glasgow. In January 2017 she was appointed to the squad that represented Austria's U21s at the A-Hallen EM in Vienna (6th place).

In September 2016 she was appointed to the squad of the Austrian women's national team for the first time. She made her debut on September 15, 2016 as part of the FIH Hockey World League / 2016-2017 in Douai in the game against France at the age of 15 years and 80 days.

In July 2017 she led the U16w national team as captain to the title in the Hockey5s EM in Wattignies, which was held for the first time . In this competition she was also the most successful goalscorer. The Austrian team thus qualified for the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games / Hockey in Buenos Aires , where 6th place was achieved.

In 2019, Herzog and the U21 team won the European runner-up in indoor hockey in Tarnowskie Gory . On the field succeeded in the same year at the women's B European championship in Glasgow, fourth place.
