Hell's Thrash Horsemen was a Russian thrash metal band from Smolensk that was formed in 2007 and disbanded in 2014.

history

The band was founded in 2007 by guitarist Nick Komshukov. In addition to Komshukov, who initially also took on the vocals, the line-up consisted of guitarist Andy Kozhekin, bassist Yegor Porotikov and drummer Andrey Azarov. In December of the same year, Alexander Ivanov joined as a singer. With this line-up, the first rehearsals began under the name Hell's Thrash Horsemen. In the following months, the group prepared for the first concerts, for which they worked out the songs Beginning of War , Prologue to Slaughterhouse , Hell's Thrash Horsemen , Serial Man and a cover version of Testaments The Preacher . After a first appearance in March 2008 in Smolensk, others followed suit. In May 2008, the band separated from their bassist Porotikov, who was replaced by Gleb Mikhalchenkov. Further appearances followed in a new line-up before the debut album … Till Violence was recorded in September . After that, the guitarist Kozhekin and the drummer Azarov left the group. The only new addition was the drummer Fedor Masuev, as it had been decided to continue as a quartet. The album was released in March 2009 on Always At War Records . After the release, the band performed in Smolensk and other Russian cities, playing new songs as well. In December work began on a second album, which was released in June 2010 under the name Going Sane . Then it went on tour through various Russian cities. In August, the bassist Mikhalchenkov left the line-up and Konstantin Rodin was added as a replacement. In autumn / winter 2010/2011 the band continued to be active live. She was also the opening act for the German group Contradiction . During this phase, the debut album on the Brazilian label Holocaust Productions was re-released as a split release Pain Is Inevitable with the also Brazilian band Rattle . In spring 2011 the band received an offer from the Malaysian label Metal Zone Distro to record a cover version of the Malaysian band Silent Death . Hell's Thrash Horsemen then recorded their version of Morbid Massacre in May , which was included on a tribute sampler in 2012. At the end of August 2011, the band could be seen in Belarus at the Metal Crowd Fest . In the fall of 2011, the group began work on a demo , which contains four songs, and which should also be heard on a later third album. In November the band performed together with the German band Necronomicon . After a small tour through Italy in February 2012 Stanislav Salnikov joined as the new bass player. Around the same time the EP Demo - 2012 was released , which consisted of demo recordings as well as new recordings. The EP should be a foretaste of the upcoming third album. In 2013, the debut album was re-released via Punishment 18 Records . The group disbanded on July 10, 2014. The release of the third album entitled Resurrected Victim should still take place.

style

Pascal from metal.de wrote in his review of ... Till Violence that the group mixed German with Thrash Metal from the San Francisco Bay Area . However, the music does not sound very innovative. The electric guitars would play very quickly, but would also introduce tempo changes in addition to solos . The drumming is occasionally a bit irregular. For Luxi Lahtinen from voicesfromthedarkside.de , Demo - 2012 was clearly part of Old School Thrash Metal. The music was mainly influenced by US bands like Slayer , Metallica and Testament. The group is possibly the greatest Russian thrash metal hope since End Zone , Мастер or DeadXheaD .
