Maidalen

The Maidalen (Norwegian for May valley ) is a 2 km long valley facing north-south near the north coast of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . The Thatcher Peninsula stretches from Maiviken Bay to Lewis Pass .

The original assumption that the valley was a section of the Bore Valley proved to be in error. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee gave it its Norwegian name in 1990 based on the naming of Maiviken Bay.
