Hella Schlumberger

Hella Schlumberger (born June 27, 1943 in Denkhaus near Reetz , Pomerania ) is a German writer and journalist . The publicist is also strongly committed to the memory of the Hitler bomber Georg Elser . It is thanks to her initiative that the Georg-Elser-Platz in Munich and the Georg-Elser-Preis are among others .

Life

Her family fled Pomerania from the Soviet army at the end of the Second World War in 1945 . She grew up in the Black Forest and studied Romance languages in Tübingen , Paris and Munich and received her doctorate in Tübingen with the dissertation The Philosophical Dialogue. Studies on Voltaire, Diderot and Galiani .

As early as 1976, Hella Schlumberger worked with Günter Wallraff to uncover a putsch plan by the former Portuguese President General Spínola with the support of Franz Josef Strauss . Günter Wallraff and Hella Schlumberger then wrote the book Uncovering a Conspiracy. The Spínola action .

During a trip to the Turkish part of Kurdistan, she was arrested for her commitment to the Kurdish population in Diyarbakır . Thanks to the efforts of the then German Foreign Minister Genscher and the Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker , the Turkish judiciary released her after 10 days.

Her books, articles, programs and films deal not only with the problems of distant countries and peoples, but also with events in their homeland. The book "Türkenstrasse. Vorstadt und Hinterhof. Eine Chronik" tells "the author, who lives in Munich's Türkenstrasse, experiences of residents of the street from 1905 to 1970 and" which spirit prevailed when ".
