The Helland Glacier is a 6 km long glacier on the south coast of South Georgia . It flows from Mount Paget in the Allardyce Range in a southwest direction to Rocky Bay .
The South Georgia Survey surveyed the bay between 1951 and 1957. The name goes back to the Norwegian geologist Olaf Holtedahl , who visited South Georgia between 1927 and 1928. It is named after the Norwegian mining geologist and glaciologist Amund Helland (1846–1918).
