Hellesylt is a place in the Norwegian municipality of Stranda .

The place is at the beginning of the Sunnylvsfjord in the province of Møre og Romsdal and has about 680 inhabitants.

A car ferry runs from Hellesylt several times a day through the Geirangerfjord, which branches off from the Sunnylvsfjord, to Geiranger .

For the small number of inhabitants, the place has a good infrastructure in the form of two supermarkets as well as various smaller shops and a youth hostel ("Hellesylt Vandrerhjem & Campinghytter") with a view of the fjord. Due to the scenic location in the fjord, Hellesylt is a popular tourist destination.

The Hellesylt waterfall divides the place in two halves and is a popular sight. Located between two bridges, Høge bru from 1907 and Hellesylt bro from 1902, the water here plunges into the Sunnylvsfjorden. In the village is the listed church Sunnylven, built in 1858 .
