Hellhound Records was a Berlin independent label specializing in Doom Metal artists . In its own description, the company called itself "The toughest label in the world". Hellhound gained popularity in particular through the publisher of well-known Doom bands such as Saint Vitus and The Obsessed . In the early 1990s, the label also focused on interpreters from the state of Maryland and made regional artists such as Internal Void , Iron Man , Revelation , Wretched and Unorthodox known.

For distribution in the United States, the label cooperated with Noise Records . The cooperation partner Noise continued to publish younger releases of the label after Hellhound had ceased operations due to the financial burden. Other albums of the label were subsequently released by popular companies such as Southern Lord , Season of Mist and Leaf Hound Records .
