Hellmuth Reymann

Hellmuth Reymann (born November 24, 1892 in Neustadt in Upper Silesia , † December 8, 1988 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) was a German officer , most recently Lieutenant General in World War II .

Life

Reymann joined the 3rd Upper Silesian Infantry Regiment No. 62 of the Prussian Army on March 22, 1912 , coming from the Cadet Corps as a lieutenant . He fought in World War I , retired from military service after the end of the war and joined the police. Here Reymann rose to police major. In the course of the armament of Germany and the expansion of the Wehrmacht , Reymann entered the army with the rank of major .

During the Second World War Reymann was the commander of the 212th Infantry Division, the 13th Air Force Field Division and the 11th Infantry Division. From March to April 1945 he served as combat commander of Berlin .
