The young screenwriter Patrick meets the UFO researcher Berg over lunch at a snack bar in Ottensen. Patrick visits Berg in his attic apartment, which is also the "Enterprise Research Station of the Research Center for Alien Disaster Processes by Beings from Space". Berg has been on the trail of aliens for thirty years. The two men develop an idiosyncratic friendship in everyday situations and through adventurous incidents.
