Hellphone , alternative title Hellphone - Ein Teuflisches Handy , is a French film from 2007 directed by James Huth , the screenplay is by Jean-Baptiste Andrea . Jean-Baptiste Maunier , known from The Children of Monsieur Mathieu , can be seen in the leading role as Sid.

Sid, a teenager who is not very popular at school, wants to buy a new cell phone. In a small shop he finds a cell phone that he thinks is appropriate. Little does Sid know that this cell phone, the Hellphone , leads an independent life and partly has human characteristics. The mobile phone vies for the love of Sid, who in turn is in love with the beautiful and popular Angie. However, she is in a relationship with Virgile, the school macho, and does not pay any attention to him. Virgile makes fun of teasing and humiliating Sid, so that out of love for Sid, the cell phone begins to call Virgile and other classmates of Sid to kill or hurt themselves or other classmates. When Sid notices this, he tries to get rid of the cell phone, but out of spurned love deep anger awakens in the cell phone, so that Sid needs the help of his classmates to finally destroy the dangerous cell phone.
