Helmar Koegl

Helmar Kögl (born September 30, 1944 in Bad Hall ; † July 27, 2010 in Vienna ) was an Austrian historian and adult educator.

Life

Kögl was born in Bad Hall in 1944 and studied psychology, history and philosophy at the University of Vienna . He completed his studies in history with a doctorate in 1969 .

After completing his studies, he worked in the field of adult education in the Archdiocese of Vienna and switched to the advertising industry in 1973. Working, he completed his training in family and Psychotherapy (since 1990 psychotherapist ). From 1992 he worked in special projects for the Austrian Chamber of Commerce , e. B. 1996 in the context of "A Thousand Years of Austria" and as an advisor to the President of the Chamber. From 2000 Kögl was responsible for public relations and advertising for the Institute for Economic Development (WIFI).

At the Stiftsgymnasium Melk he was a member of the pennal Catholic student association K.Ö.St.V. Nibelungia Melk in the MKV . During his university studies he became a member of the Catholic student association Danubia Vienna in the ÖCV . In the Student Union of the University of Vienna Kögl was politically active as a student council leader for philosophy.

From 1998 to 2006 he was chairman of the management of the Austrian Cartel Association (ÖCV) . Numerous other connections (for example Saxo-Bavaria Prague , for which he worked as an archivist until the end, or Theresiana Wiener Neustadt) awarded Kögl honorary memberships.

Helmar Kögl was buried at the Vienna Central Cemetery .

The Prawy Estate

In 2004/05, Kögl began as an archivist to sift through and organize Marcel Prawy's estate , which was stored in “750 plastic bags ” , which is why the City of Vienna awarded him the Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the State of Vienna.
