Helmut Dammann-Tamke (born October 11, 1961 in Stade ) is a German local politician and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . He is married and has three children.

education and profession

After attending the Athenaeum grammar school in Stade, Dammann-Tamke began an apprenticeship as a farmer. From 1982 to 1985 he studied agriculture at the Kiel University of Applied Sciences. He then took over his parents' business and has been an independent farmer ever since.

politics

Dammann-Tamke has been a member of the CDU since 1986 . In the same year he became councilor of the community of Bargstedt . Since 1992 he has been a member of the district council in the Stade district and has been deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group there since 2001, and its chairman since 2011. Since 2003 he has been a directly elected member of the Lower Saxony state parliament for the constituency of Buxtehude . From 2003 to 2012 he was a member of the budget and finance committee, since 2008 he has been a member of the agricultural committee and spokesman for the CDU for agricultural policy and agriculture. In 2017 he was elected deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group.

In May 2008 the general assembly of the Lower Saxony State Hunters' Association elected Dammann-Tamke as its president.
