Karl-Ludwig von Danwitz (born July 26, 1958 in Viersen ) is a German politician (CDU) and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

education and profession

After graduating from high school and completing basic military service, von Danwitz studied agricultural science in Göttingen from 1980 to 1983 . In 1984 he received his doctorate and worked as a research assistant at the Federal Research Institute . He then worked as a management consultant in Schleswig-Holstein and in 1986 he set up as a farmer in Schneverdingen . He has three children.

politics

Since 1991 von Danwitz has been represented for the CDU in the district council of the Heidekreis district.

From 2003 to 2013 and since 2017 he has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament as a directly elected member of the Soltau constituency . In the election of the direct candidate for the state elections in 2013, he was nearly defeated by Lutz Winkelmann , who became his successor in this constituency. In the early state elections in 2017 , he returned to the 18th state parliament as a directly elected member, having prevailed over Lutz Winkelmann in the candidate list.
