Helmut Heinrichs

Helmut Heinrichs (born January 13, 1928 ; † July 24, 2017 ) was a German judge ; from 1981 until his retirement in 1992 he was President of the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Bremen .

Heinrichs studied law in Kiel and completed his legal clerkship in Bremen. After the 2nd state examination, he entered the higher judicial service here in 1956 and - interrupted by a two-year secondment to the Senator for Justice - worked at the Bremen Regional Court . In 1967, based on the dissertation "The Law of Friedrich Julius Stahl ", the doctorate to Dr. jur. In 1965 Heinrichs was appointed senior judge at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Bremen and in 1973 President of the regional court. In 1981 he was appointed President of the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Bremen.

In addition to his work as a judge, Heinrichs also worked scientifically. The University of Bremen appointed him honorary professor for civil law and business law.

Henry was known to the public primarily for his participation in the in CH Beck appearing Palandt , a commentary on the Civil Code . He commented on the sections on the general part and the general law of obligations in over 40 editions from 1969 to 2008 . From 1982 to 1991 Heinrichs was a member of the expert commission for reform of the law of obligations .
