Helmut Hilz

Helmut Hilz (born November 13, 1924 in Landau in the Palatinate , † December 29, 2011 in Munich ) was a German chemist .

Life

Hilz studied chemistry from 1947 to 1949 at the University of Freiburg and from 1949 to 1951 at the University of Munich . After graduating in 1951, he worked as a scientific assistant in Feodor Lynen's laboratory . From 1953 to 1954 he stayed with Fritz Lipmann at Harvard University . He completed his habilitation in 1959, became an adjunct professor in 1967 and a full professor of physiological chemistry at the University of Hamburg in 1969 . In 1990 he retired.
