Helmut Josef Braun

Helmut Josef Braun (born December 30, 1924 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein , † October 25, 2010 in Stegen ) was a German forest scientist .

Life

Helmut J. Braun studied biology, chemistry and geography in Munich from 1947 to 1953. In 1953 he was awarded a doctorate at the Munich Forest Botanical Institute. rer. nat. PhD . 1953 to 1961 he was an assistant at the forest science faculties in Munich, Hann. Münden, Göttingen and Freiburg im Breisgau. In 1961 he completed his habilitation and received the venia legendi for forest botany at the University of Freiburg. He then worked as a lecturer in Freiburg for two years. In 1963 he was a full professor of general botany (plant anatomy) at the Agricultural University of Wageningen in the Netherlands in 1965 . From 1965 he was professor and full professor at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg .
