Helmut Junker (born April 10, 1934 in Bergzabern ) is a German psychoanalyst and writer .

Life

Helmut Junker studied law and medicine . He headed the psychotherapeutic research and counseling center for students at the University of Kassel . He later held a professorship with a focus on the history of psychoanalysis at the same university. Junker now lives in Hamburg and works in private practice as a medical psychotherapist.

In addition to scientific works on psychotherapy , Junker published several books for young people on topics from the Third World in the 1960s and, from the late 1970s, psychological novels and stories .

Currently his interest is again directed towards psychoanalytically oriented narratives (see under works).
