Helmut Kahlhöfer
Helmut Kahlhöfer (born July 25, 1914 in Barmen ; † April 12, 1988 in Wuppertal ) was a German church musician and university professor .
Life
Kahlhöfer founded the Barmen-Gemarke Kantorei in Wuppertal in 1946 , which he headed until 1986. He taught as a professor at the Folkwang University in Essen . From 1961 to 1986 he also directed the Schönhausen Choir Krefeld. For his services to church music, he was awarded the title of church music director .
