Helmut Kleinböhl (born January 7, 1938 - October 10, 2015 ) was a German soccer player who, as an active player at Kickers Offenbach, made 82 appearances with five goals in the Oberliga Süd between 1959 and 1963 .

career

Amateur, until 1959

In the 2nd amateur league, at SC Opel Rüsselsheim in the South Hessian amateur area, Kleinböhl, who played on the left or half-left, caught the attention of the DFB amateur national team in the Hessian Football Association at the age of 21 . Together with Willi Schulz , he made his debut on April 15, 1959 in the amateur national team at the international match against Holland in Enschede. Schulz, Herbert Schäfer and Helmut Kleinböhl formed the runner-up in the 2-0 win against the Netherlands. The second appointment followed on May 27th for the player from Rüsselsheim. In Siegen there was another 2-0 win against England. The same row of runners acted as against Holland and the German goalscorer was the same as in Enschede: Erwin Stein scored all four goals in the two games of the amateur national team. Helmut Kleinböhl turned his back on the black and yellow from Rüsselsheim and signed a contract with the German runner-up Kickers Offenbach for the 1959/60 round for the Oberliga Süd. Just like Erwin Stein, who moved to Eintracht Frankfurt, Kleinböhl could no longer be used for the upcoming Olympic qualifying games for the DFB amateur national team.

Oberliga Süd and Regionalliga Süd, 1959 to 1968

The newcomer from the 2nd amateur league Hessen played his first league game for Offenbach on the third match day of the 1959/60 round, on September 6, 1959, at the home game against SSV Ulm in 1846 . The Kickers won 2-0 goals and Kleinböhl, who played on the half-left, took the 1-0 lead for the Bieberer Berg team in the 75th minute . He experienced the first main derby against Eintracht Frankfurt on November 1, 1959, with a 2-1 home win. Through his 24 appearances with five goals, the amateur national player had an active part in achieving second place in his first season with the OFC. The South Vice of 1960 did not take part directly in the final round of the German football championship , it was a qualifying game against the West Vice to play. On May 7, 1960, Westfalia Herne and Kickers Offenbach took part in this qualifying game in Hanover. In the attack, the Offenbachers trusted Engelbert Kraus , Gerhard Kaufhold , Hans Weber , Helmut Kleinböhl and Siegfried Gast . Otto Luttrop decided with his goal in the 42nd minute this encounter for Herne and Offenbach could not take part in the actual 1960 finals. In the next two rounds Offenbach came 4th in the south and Kleinböhl was part of the regular line-up with 26 and 27 missions respectively. In the senior league's senior year, 1962/63, the ex-Rüsselsheimer only completed five league games for Offenbach in the second half of the season (in February and March 1963) and returned to Rüsselsheim in the summer of 1963.

In the next two years he was able to celebrate two championships with two promotions with Opel Rüsselsheim. In the 1963/64 season, the SC prevailed in the 2nd amateur league and in the promotion game against Alsfeld 06 and in the Hessenliga 1964/65 with a goal difference of 100-23 and eleven points ahead and was thus able to celebrate promotion to the Regionalliga Süd . Rüsselsheim placed in the first three years in the Regionalliga Süd in the ranks 10th, 12th and 11th. In the 1967/68 season Otto Barić coached the Hessen and Kleinböhl was in the two games against the top teams from Offenbach and Hof, respectively Half-left in action. On March 17, 1968, Rüsselsheim wrestled the runner-up from Offenbach in the stadium on Sommerdamm from a 2-2 draw, eight days later with the same result at the later champions FC Bayern Hof . Kleinböhl completed 67 games in the Regionalliga Süd for South Hesse from 1965 to 1968 and ended his career as a contract player after the 1967/68 round.
