Helmut Lamparter

Helmut Lamparter (born September 28, 1912 in Reutlingen , † March 18, 1991 in Tübingen ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran theologian .

Life

Helmut Lamparter grew up in Reutlingen and, after graduating from the state, attended the Protestant seminars in Schöntal and Urach between 1926 and 1930 . From 1930 to 1934 he studied Protestant theology , first in nearby Tübingen, then in Marburg and finally in Bonn , a. a. with Karl Barth , who shaped him a lot.

From 1934 to 1938 he completed his vicariate in various parishes of the Württemberg regional church and wrote scientific papers on Martin Luther . From 1939 he worked as Repetent at Tubingen seminary and was due to a dissertation on Luther's position to the Turkish War (152 pages, published in 1940) to Dr. theol. PhD.

From 1940 to 1945 Lamparter was used as a paramedic in World War II . From 1945 he was parish priest in Mittelstadt near Reutlingen for ten years .

On April 18, 1950 he married Lore Lamparter, b. Maußhardt († 1992). The two sons Jörg Lamparter and Ulrich Lamparter emerged from this marriage.

From 1955 he worked as a lecturer at the Pedagogical Institute Stuttgart, later the Pedagogical University Ludwigsburg , and was appointed professor in 1962. He held this position until his retirement in 1977. From 1960 to 1971 he was chairman of the Jungmannwerk in Stuttgart . From 1977 he retired in Tübingen. He was best known through numerous publications: He wrote numerous interpretations of the Bible and the poetic translation of all psalms . His commentaries on the Psalms, the Book of Job and Jeremiah are also known . His poetic translation of all psalms was set to music by Wolfgang Grau.
