Helmut Link (born February 6, 1927 in Frankfurt am Main ; † February 26, 2009 ) was a German CDU politician .

Helmut Link did an electrical mechanic apprenticeship and from 1944 worked as a test mechanic in the Siemens switchgear in Frankfurt. In 1944 he was called up for the Reich Labor Service and was then in the Wehrmacht until 1945. In 1947 he became a member of IG Metall and joined the CDA in 1954 . He later became district chairman of the CDA in Frankfurt and a member of its federal board. In 1957 Link joined the CDU and was a member of the Frankfurt city council from 1960 to 1969, including on the parliamentary group committee from 1964 to 1969. In the 1969 Bundestag election, Link was elected to the German Bundestag via the CDU's Hessian state list , after he had run for it unsuccessfully in 1965. Link remained a member of the German Bundestag until 1990 and was initially always elected via the Hessian state list. In 1983 and 1987 he finally succeeded in gaining a direct mandate in the Frankfurt am Main III constituency .
