Helmut Meine

Helmut Karl Otto Willi My (* 16th January 1929 in Celle , † 16 July 2016 ibid ) was a German local politician , historian and chronicler .

Life

Mine was born the first of four children. After the end of the war he worked briefly as a farmer until he started at the Deutsche Bundespost in 1946 . Mine was Deputy Mayor of Celle from 1973 to 1976. From 1961 to 1964 in the local council and from 1968 to 1972 also mayor. From 1973 to 1976 and again from 1991 to 2004 local councilor and mayor in Garßen.

He joined the CDU in 1963 and was a co-founder of the CDU local association Garßen in 1970 (including Bostel (Celle) Altenhagen (Celle) ). He held the office of 1st chairman twice. For more than 50 years of party membership, Meine was recognized by David McAllister at the CDU district party conference in April 2014 .

Mine was also a member of the administrative committee, district committee, sports committee and the committee for vocational schools.

Honorary positions and club memberships

Helmut Meine was a member of the Garßen volunteer fire brigade for more than 70 years . Since 1946 he was a re-founding member of the sports club Garßen (SV Garßen). There he was later u. a. 1st chairman of the Sportverein Garßen eV (1961–1978)

From the re-establishment in 1950 he was a member of the Schützenverein Garßen eV (founded in 1891) until his death. He was also a co-founder of the Celle Golf Club (1985).

Honors

  • May 18, 1995 - Award of the Cross of Merit on ribbon
  • September 17, 2017 - Renaming of the Garßen sports facility to "Helmut-Meine-Sportanlage"
