Helmut Pampuch

Helmut Pampuch (born January 30, 1940 in Großmahlendorf , Upper Silesia , † March 20, 2008 ) was a German opera singer ( tenorbuffo ).

Life

He studied at the Nuremberg Conservatory with Willi Domgraf-Fassbaender . He received his first engagement in 1963 in Regensburg. After Braunschweig, Saarbrücken, Wiesbaden, he was a member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein ensemble in Düsseldorf from 1973 to 2005 , where he embodied numerous roles in the Buffo field, such as Dr. Blind in the bat . His best-known role was that of mime in Richard Wagner's opera cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen , especially from 1978 in Patrice Chéreau's production of the Ring of the Century at the Bayreuth Festival , which premiered in 1976. On August 18, 2007, the Rheinoper Düsseldorf awarded its long-time ensemble member Helmut Pampuch an honorary membership of their house.
