Helmut Röhm

Helmut Röhm (born March 16, 1913 in Untersteinbach , Württemberg; † July 21, 2000 in Stuttgart ) was a German natural and agricultural scientist in Hohenheim, he was rector of the University of Hohenheim (LWH) from 1967 to 1969.

Live and act

After graduating from the university in Urach in 1932 , Röhm first studied natural sciences at the University of Tübingen (1932–1934). He then moved to the Hohenheim Agricultural University to study agricultural sciences. He completed this course with a doctorate to become a Dr. agr. 1939. This was followed by the habilitation with Venia legendi for agricultural policy and the food industry (1951), appointment as diet lecturer, appointment as associate professor and in 1961 appointment as ord. Professor and appointment to the chair for agricultural policy and social economics which he held until his retirement in 1980.

His main research areas were rural structural research and agricultural geography. Röhm was dean of the agricultural science faculty from 1965 to 1967, and during his rectorate from 1967 to 1969 the Hohenheim Agricultural University was renamed the University of Hohenheim.
