Helmut Ritsch

Helmut Ritsch (born March 12, 1962 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian physicist in the field of theoretical physics , especially quantum optics .

Life

Ritsch grew up in the Stubaital near Innsbruck, graduated from the Academic Gymnasium in Innsbruck in 1980 and then studied physics at the University of Innsbruck , where he completed his physics diploma in 1985 with a thesis on synchrotron radiation. Helmut Ritsch has been a professor at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Innsbruck since 2011 and has been a director of the institute since 2017.

Helmut Ritsch is married to the physicist Monika Ritsch-Marte , they have two daughters.
