Helmut Vorndran (born January 18, 1961 in Bad Neustadt an der Saale ) is a German cabaret artist and author .

Career

Vorndran learned the trade of carpenter , and then studied social pedagogy , but dropped out.

Vorndran's cabaret career began with Total Bamberger Cabaret , which he co-founded in 1984.

In addition, Vorndran works as an author for, among others, Antenne Bayern and Bavarian TV .

Since 1990 he has lived in an old mill on the Itz in Rattelsdorf near Bamberg.

In 2009, Emons Verlag published his first Frankish thriller Das Alabastergrab . This crime thriller takes place in and around Bamberg and at Banz Monastery , the seat of the CSU- related Hanns Seidel Foundation and sometimes the meeting place for the CSU leadership, located near Bad Staffelstein . In his foreword, Helmut Vorndran thanks his informants from the CSU. Over 10,000 copies of Alabaster Tombs were sold within nine months . The press described this as a record for a Franconian local crime thriller, as well as a debut novel. In 2012 Helmut Vorndran ended his activity as a cabaret artist and has been working exclusively as a writer since 2013.

In the meantime 6 detective novels and 1 volume with detective short stories have been published. The titles of the detective novels follow the alphabet. In the meantime the author has reached the letter "K" , in July 2018 detective novel number 8, "Die Kamuelsfeder", was published.

In 2016, his first historical novel, Isarnon: Stadt über dem Fluss , was published, the story of which is set a few decades before the birth of Christ in the world of the southern German Celts.
