Alexander Sidorowitsch Schapovalov

Alexander Shapovalov Sidorovitch ( Russian Александр Сидорович Шаповалов * August 28 . Jul / 9. September  1871 greg. In Chernaya Sloboda, Governorate Poltava , † the thirtieth April 1942 ) was a Russian metal workers, revolutionary and author.

Life

Schapovalov, who came from a peasant family, joined the " Petersburg Combat League for the Liberation of the Working Class " in 1895 . From 1896 to 1901 he was in exile in Eastern Siberia . As a member of the Bolsheviks , he took part in the 1905 revolution. To avoid being arrested again, he emigrated to Belgium in 1906 . In the spring of 1917 he was able to return. After the October Revolution , Shapovalov was active in several Soviets and in party work, for example in the Central Control Commission of the RKP from 1924 to 1925 (b) . He published his memoirs under the title "On the Road to Marxism: Memories of a Workers Revolutionary". The German edition was one of the books burned by the Nazis in 1933 .
