Helmuth Baumann
Helmuth Baumann (also written Helmut Baumann ; born January 23, 1940 in Oelsnitz, Saxony ) is a former German hammer thrower who competed for the GDR .
At the GDR championships he was second once (1964) and third five times (1965-1969). His greatest international success is eighth place at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City.
He set up his personal best of 69.90 m on June 22, 1968 in Jena .
Helmuth Baumann started for the ASK Vorwärts Potsdam .
