Helmuth Pehlke

Helmuth Pehlke (born November 15, 1943 in Zitzmin ) is a German theologian and Senior Research Professor for the Old Testament at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth / Texas , and at the Bonn Bibelseminar . He was a lecturer at various German evangelical training centers such as the Free Theological University of Giessen (FTH).

Life

From 1963 to 1970 Pehlke attended various Bible schools and was then theological teacher at the Bergstrasse Bible School in Seeheim until 1975 . He studied theology at Dallas Theological Seminary from 1975 to 1983, was there from 1978 to 1983 teaching assistant in the Department of Semitic Studies and the Old Testament and was awarded a doctorate in theology in 1985. From 1983 to 2015 he was a lecturer in the Old Testament at the Free Theological Academy in Gießen . Since 2005 he has been professor of the Old Testament at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth / Texas, and in its German master’s program at Bibelseminar Bonn . In 2016 he was appointed Research Professor in Fort Worth, Texas and in 2017 Senior Research Professor.
