Helnhausen is a deserted village in the western district of Geismar , a district of Fritzlar in northern Hesse Schwalm-Eder-Kreis .

It is located, so far only approximately localizable, at about 245  m altitude north of the Eder and the state road L3383 from Geismar to Wellen at the southeast foot of the Heidekopf ( 298.2  m ). The field name "Hell Hausen" and "Höllhausen" recall the vanished settlement. The settlement was probably very small, was first mentioned in 1371 as locus and in 1575 was described as desolate. Written mentions of the place or its fields were u. a. "Helnshusen" (1371), "Helmhausen", "Hilnhausen", "beim helgen home" and "am Helnn" (1579).
