Helperich von Plötzkau

Helperich von Plötzkau or Helferich (Latin: Helpericus comes de Ploceke , † 1118 ) was Count of Plötzkau and Walbeck and Margrave of the Nordmark (1112).

Life

Helperich was a son of Dietrich von Plötzkau and Mathilde von Walbeck. After his father's death he became Count of Plötzkau. He inherited the county of Walbeck from his mother .

In 1112, Emperor Heinrich V deposed Rudolf von Stade, the previous Margrave of the Northern Region . This was a partisan of Saxon Duke Lothar . Helperich became the new margrave. In June Rudolf was rehabilitated and probably Margrave again.

Helperich died in 1118. He was buried in the Hecklingen monastery .

Marriage and offspring

After 1106 Helperich was married to Adele, a daughter of Kuno von Northeim and Kunigunde von Weimar-Orlamünde . From the marriage emerged:

  • Bernhard († 1147), Count of Plötzkau
  • Konrad († 1133), Margrave of the Nordmark (1130)
  • Ermengard, Abbess of Hecklingen Monastery
  • Mathilde (Mechthild)
