Hemetre was an ancient Egyptian princess commonly assigned to the 4th Dynasty . Her parents are not known beyond doubt, but due to the location of her grave, she is usually mistaken for a daughter of Pharaoh Chephren . Three sons and three daughters are known from depictions in her grave, but the name of her husband cannot be determined with certainty.

tomb

Hemetre heard of a rock tomb on Central Field in Giza . It consists of two main rooms, which were originally separated from each other by a double-leaf wooden door. In the eastern room there are four pillars, which are decorated with reliefs, which show Hemetre together with her children and offerers.

Andrey Bolshakov subjected the grave to a detailed analysis in the early 1990s and came to the conclusion that it must have been built in several phases. In his opinion, the tomb was built in the 4th Dynasty and was originally undecorated. He dates the expansion, decoration and final use of the tomb to the end of the 5th dynasty . Thus, the assignment of the Hemetre as the daughter of Chephren is now very uncertain.
