Hemetre (short form: Hemi ) was an ancient Egyptian princess at the transition from the 5th to the 6th dynasty . She was a daughter of Pharaoh Unas .

Origin and family

Hemetre was a daughter of Pharaoh Unas, the ninth and last ruler of the 5th dynasty. An inscription in her grave explicitly names Unas as her father. Unas had two royal wives: Nebet and Chenut . Which of the two was Hemetre's mother is unknown. Several siblings or half-siblings of Hemetre are known: her brother Unasanch and another brother, whose name has not been passed down, as well as her sisters Chentkaus , Iput I (the later wife of Pharaoh Teti ) and Seschseschet Idut . Other possible sisters were Neferetkaus and Neferut .

Hemetre was buried in the Mastaba D 65 northwest of the Djoser pyramid in Saqqara . In this her sarcophagus and a false door were found.
