Hendrik Kobell
Hendrik Kobell (born September 13, 1751 in Rotterdam ; † August 3, 1779 ibid) was a Dutch marine painter , draftsman and etcher from the Kobell family of artists .
Life
Kobell painted and etched navies, which are characterized by the skill of execution and the liveliness of the portrayal, and died in his native town in 1779 after a long stay in England.
His son Jan Kobell II (1778–1814) trained as an animal and landscape painter under WR van der Wall , but mainly through studies after Paulus Potter . He died in September 1814 in Amsterdam .
