Hendrik Neubauer

Hendrik Neubauer (born June 13, 1960 in Hamburg ) is a German historian , journalist and communications consultant. Since the mid-1990s he has been editor of publications on the cultural history of the 20th century.

Life

Hendrik Neubauer studied Modern and Middle History , New German Literature , German Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . He received his journalistic training at Harenberg Kommunikation in Dortmund . From 1994 he was agency manager of the photo agency Das Fotoarchiv in Essen, from 1998 to 2000 director and partner of the agency, renamed Christoph & Friends Media + Trade Agents Das Fotoarchiv GmbH . From 2000 to 2001 he was Managing Editor at Könemann Verlagsgesellschaft in Cologne, and in 2002 Head of Sales, Marketing and Quality Management at GFW-Verlag in Düsseldorf .

Neubauer has worked as a freelance author as well as text and picture editor for magazines and publishers since 1987 and first appeared as an editor in 1997. In 1999 the illustrated book Curious Moments was published . The theme is the journalistic genre “Panorama | From all over the world ” , which in selected examples from 1900 to 1968 results in a compendium of the bizarre things of the 20th century.

In 2010 , after years of editing , Neubauer and Kunibert Wachten , Professor of Urban Development and Regional Planning at RWTH Aachen University, published the Compendium Urban Development and Architecture. The 20th century out. Organized chronologically by decades, the anthology presents data, facts, stories, anecdotes, photographs and sketches that illuminate the topic from both an architectural-historical and urban planning perspective.

Hendrik Neubauer is an appointed member of the German Society for Photography .
