Hendrik de Fromantiou
Hendrik de Fromantiou (* 1633/34 or 1640 in Maastricht , † 1694 in Potsdam ) was a Dutch painter.
Fromantiou probably first worked in Haarlem and cultivated still life (dead birds, vegetables and fruits) with a wealth of coloristic talent. Was appointed court painter to the court of the Great Elector Friedrich Wilhelm (Brandenburg) in Berlin and Potsdam in 1670 . He has often been on trips abroad as an agent for him. Was in first marriage with Ludowica geb. Wouwerman, daughter of Philips Wouwerman , married, second marriage to Johanna geb. Blankert. His paintings are rare. An animal still life with a dead partridge in a wall niche was in the royal palace of Berlin.
