Henricus Cornelis Maria "Henk" Krol (born April 1, 1950 in Tilburg ) is a Dutch politician , journalist and LGBT activist.

Life

Krol studied psychology in Amsterdam . Since his student days he has worked as a journalist for the public radio station VPRO and for the public broadcaster TROS . He also published articles in daily newspapers. In 1977 he became a member of the right-wing liberal Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie (VVD). Krol was from 1978 to 1985 the press spokesman for her group in the Second Chamber of the States General . In 1979 he founded the LGBT magazine Gay Krant , for which he was editor-in-chief until 2013. He was one of the initiators of same-sex marriagein the Netherlands. From 2011 to 2012, Krol was a member of the 50PLUS party and chairman of the parliamentary group in North Brabant . In 2012 he was elected Member of the Second Chamber and chairman of that party.

Krol is married.
