50PLUS (pronounced [fɛiftəx plʏs] ) is a political party in the Netherlands that wants to represent the interests of people over fifty years old. It was founded in 2009 as Onafhankelijke Ouderen- en Kinderen Unie (OokU, Dutch for “you too”). The party was founded by Jan Nagel , who was previously involved with Leefbaar Nederland , and the current foreman is Jan Zoetelief .

In the 2011 election to the provincial parliaments , the party received a total of 2.4 percent of the vote and nine seats. In the 2011 election to the First Chamber , the party supported the Onafhankelijke Senaatsfractie (OSF) of various regional parties . Kees de Lange from 50PLUS took the successful list position . Therefore, two 50PLUS members are currently represented in the First Chamber.

In the 2012 parliamentary elections , the party won two seats. There were two additional mandates in the 2017 parliamentary elections .

On October 4, 2013 it was announced that Henk Krol was stepping down from the Second Chamber. The reason for this is a publication in Volkskrant about unpaid pension contributions at Gay Krant in the period in which he was boss.
