Henning Moritzen (born August 3, 1928 in Tårbæk , Denmark , † August 11, 2012 in Frederiksberg , Denmark) was a Danish actor .

biography

After studying acting at Blanche Funch and at Privatteatrenes Elevskole, Henning Moritzen played in theaters, including at Det Ny Teater in Copenhagen and Det Kongelige Teater . He made his screen debut in the literary film adaptation Susanne , published in 1950 and directed by Torben Anton Svendsen . He was able to establish himself as an actor and played among other things in Ingmar Bergman's Screams and Whispers and a sadistic father in Thomas Vinterberg's Das Fest . In his career he was nominated five times for a Bodil , winning Best Actor for In Love in Copenhagen and Best Supporting Actor for Harry and his valet and dancing with Regitze . He received a Robert in 2010 for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in headhunters .

Moritzen died on August 11, 2012 at the age of 84 in Frederiksberg Hospital . He was married twice and was the father of two children, the actress Marianne Moritzen and the theater director Michael Moritzen . In his second marriage, he was married to the actress Lise Ringheim from 1971 until her death in 1994 .
