Frederiksberg Hospital

The Frederiksberg Hospital (to German Hospital Frederiksberg ) is a medium-sized, state hospital and is in the eponymous town of Frederiksberg in Denmark . It has 380 beds (as of 2005) and an emergency room . The hospital was founded in 1903 to replace the older city hospital, as the latter had become too small. It is located in the quiet residential area of the city and has an idyllic garden. The hospital grew with the city of Frederiksberg and in 1970 had about 1,000 beds. In 1940 a wing was added to the building. Since then it has been further specialized and the number of beds has been reduced as a result. Organizationally, the hospital has belonged to the Hovedstaden region since January 2007 and is part of the University Hospital Københavns Universitetshospital . Before that it was part of the hospital organization of the “Greater Copenhagen Region” .

Frederiksberg Hospital is a so-called basic hospital and is responsible for the residents of Frederiksberg municipality itself and also for those of the Copenhagen district of Vanløse. The area of responsibility therefore includes around 130,000 residents. The hospital's medical focus is on elective surgery , medical care and general rehabilitation. Other medical fields are elective orthopedic surgery , urology and medical diagnostics . The emergency department takes care of lighter acute cases from the described catchment area.

Departments and functions

The Frederiksberg Nurse School was part of the hospital until 1992 . However, this was then outsourced and moved to the Danish Diaconal Foundation in Frederiksberg.

The hospital no longer has its own maternity ward . The last of around 1,800 babies born there since it was founded in 1903 was born there at the end of 2009.

Mission statement

The hospital's motto is "Focus on the patient". According to the hospital, it is the task of the hospital to "ensure competent treatment and rehabilitation of medical patients with long-term and chronic illnesses. The focus is on a good, continuous process in close cooperation with the municipalities."

Specialty

In the 1970s, the hospital was the setting for the pornographic film Arsehole Treatment (film no. 616 from the Danish Hardcore series ) produced by Color Climax (a company / film producer based in neighboring Copenhagen at the time ). The central plot of the film itself, which revolves around the "interaction" of two nurses with two male patients in and at the bedside, probably only took place there fictitiously, so it was not the location . In the film clip, however, the view of the main building of the hospital is shown. The extent to which this was done by mutual agreement between the hospital management and the producer or, if necessary, was drawn from the hospital's fund for the props for setting the scene , or whether the hospital distanced itself from this film appearance is not proven.
