Henning Wolter

Henning Wolter (* 1964 in Wunstorf ) is a German jazz pianist and composer.

Henning Wolter studied at the Music Academy in Arnhem (NL) with Rob van den Broeck and Robert Jan Vermeulen until 1995 . During his studies he founded the Henning Wolter Trio with bass player Lucien Matheeuwsen and drummer Marcel van Cleef, which is the focus of his artistic work. Henning Wolter also played with Eric Vloeimans , Gerd Dudek , Jens Winther and Stephan-Max Wirth, among others .

In 2003 Henning Wolter composed the music for the film “Die Helden von Eisenheim”, a co-production by the two-time Grimme Prize winner Werner Kubny, Per Schnell and the WDR .

Since 2009 he has been working on the connection between music and cryptography . In cooperation with the open source project CrypTool , Henning Wolter designed two tasks for the international cryptology competition Mystery Twister C3 (MTC3) in 2011, which deal with encryption methods in music. In 2013, the Undercover Job project developed from this. A jazz CD was created under the title of the same name, which is linked to an online game using codes contained in the original compositions.
