Henning von Wistinghausen

Henning von Wistinghausen (born November 26, 1936 in Copenhagen ) is a former German ambassador to Estonia , Kazakhstan and Finland . He is the author of several historical books.

Life

Henning von Wistinghausen worked in the German foreign service for 36 years , from 1967 to 1969, from 1975 to 1981 and from 1984 to 1990 in the Foreign Ministry ( Bonn ). His international positions were:

Origin and family

Henning v. W. comes from the German-Baltic aristocratic von Wistinghausen family , who had mainly lived in what was then Reval since the middle of the 17th century . His father is the former German diplomat and ambassador Rudolf Eduard von Wistinghausen (* 1905 in Riga, † 1981 in Bad Honnef ), who was married to Ursula Breyer. Henning married Monique Freifrau von Snoy in 1966, their descendants are: Magnus, Christian and Natalie von Wistinghausen.
