Henri A. Naville

Henri A. Naville (born June 24, 1875 in Zurich , † July 8, 1939 in Kilchberg ) was a Swiss mechanical engineer .

life and work

Naville was the son of Gustave Naville and the brother of Robert Naville (1884-1970). Naville completed a mechanical engineering degree at the ETH Zurich . He then went on study trips to Germany and England and after completing his studies spent a year in the United States to get to know the working methods there.

When he returned, Naville worked for a few years as an engineer at Escher & Wyss and was involved in the design of steam turbines. From 1904 to 1938 Naville was with Brown Boveri & Cie . active. First as an engineer, later as an authorized signatory and finally as a member of the management. From 1928 he was delegate of the board of directors and its president from 1934 to 1938.

Naville was a member of the committee of the Employers' Association of the Swiss Machine Industry (ASM) and the Association of Swiss Machine Manufacturers (VSM), today Swissmem . In addition, from 1923 to 1939 he was on the board of the Association of Swiss Machine Manufacturers, which he also chaired from 1934 to 1938.

Neville was married to Martha, nee Muralt.
