In the Ski World Cup , Bréchu drove into the points for the first time on December 11, 1969, finishing ninth in the giant slalom in Val-d'Isère . It should be his only countable result in the discipline. He achieved all other places in the points in the slalom. On January 31, 1970 he won the slalom of the 3-Tre race in Madonna di Campiglio . In addition, a second and three third places came in the course of the 1969/70 season . He finished fifth in the slalom discipline.
At the 1970 World Cup , Bréchu was initially sixth in the slalom, but was subsequently disqualified. In the 1970/71 season , a sixth place remained his best result, after which he announced his retirement. On February 14, 1971, he won the slalom at the pre-Olympic competitions in Sapporo , which was not part of the World Cup .
