Henri Welschinger (born February 2, 1846 in Muttersholtz , † November 3, 1919 in Viroflay ) was a French archivist and historian .

Life

After attending primary school, Welschinger entered the Notre-Dame des Champs boys' seminar in Paris and received a classical education. In 1867 he began his service as archivist in the French National Assembly , later took on administrative activities in the Senate administration and worked 42 years in the Palais du Luxembourg . In 1907 he was appointed to the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences and held a chair in Section V with the title "General History and Philosophy".
