Life

Arnold Moscigay studied chemistry and pharmacy after graduating from high school and ran a pharmacy in Budapest for several years . However, his keen sense of art prompted him to change his profession. He learned photography from Ludwig Angerer in Vienna . His first wife Maria died here of tuberculosis in January 1869. He then left Vienna and went to Germany, where he worked first for Emilie Bieber and later for Leonard Berlin-Bieber in Hamburg as the director of E. Bieber 's studio .

In 1897 he went into business for himself and opened his own photo studio. Thanks to its popularity, his studio was soon one of the first companies with its locations at Neuer Wall 46 (1897) and later at Eimsbütteler Chaussee 46. After his death, the atelier was continued by the widow and other owners, such as Hans Wunderlich.

When he joined the kk Photographische Gesellschaft in Vienna in 1869, he was one of its oldest members.
