George Dedolph

George Dedolph (born July 10, 1789 in Hofgeismar , † November 30, 1843 in Kassel ) was a German lawyer . Dedolph became a senior judge in Kassel and was a member of the Hessian Estates Assembly from 1831 to 1835 .

Life

Dedolph was the son of the post director in Hofgeismar Johann Conrad Dedolph and his wife Chlothilde, a born farmer. From 1810 he studied law at the University of Göttingen . After graduation he was first bailiff in Gudensberg and Speaker of the Audit Committee of the Hessian state parliament. In 1824 he became a district judge and district judge and later a senior judge at the civil senate of the higher court in Kassel for the province of Lower Hesse .

In 1831 he was elected as a member of the Hessian Estates Assembly, the 1st Landtag, as a representative of the farmers of the Diemelstrom . Also during 1833 he was a member of the Estates Assembly, the 2nd and 3rd Landtag, most recently as its Vice President. In November 1833 he was re-elected to the 4th state parliament by the cities of the Diemelstrom, but received no mandate from the Hessian government. In the state parliament he belonged to the moderately liberal opposition and was distinguished by his active participation in numerous committees.

Even after the end of his parliamentary work, Dedolph remained as a senior judge at the Kassel higher court. As such, he died on November 30, 1843, at the age of 54, in Kassel.
