Henrik Sillem (born August 12, 1866 in Amsterdam , † July 13, 1907 in Courmayeur , Italy ) was a Dutch sports shooter .
successes
Henrik Sillem took part in the 1900 Olympic Games in Paris in seven disciplines. In the individual competition, he took twelfth place with the free pistol , while he won the bronze medal in the team competition with Antonius Bouwens , Solko van den Bergh , Anthony Sweijs and Dirk Boest Gips . The Olympic competition also counted as a world championship . The remaining five disciplines in which Sillem participated were fought with the rifle. In the individual competitions, with one exception, he missed a top placement, in the prone position he was sixth. With the team he finished the three-position battle in fifth place.
He won four other medals at world championships . In a kneeling position with the free rifle, he secured the bronze medal in Lyon in 1897 and in Loosduinen in 1899, as well as in the three-position battle in Lucerne in 1901 . In the team competition of the three-position fight, he was also runner-up in 1901.
Sillem had a fatal accident while climbing the Aiguille du Midi .
