Henry Roseman Lang

Henry Roseman Lang (born September 22, 1853 in Wartau , † July 25, 1934 in New Haven , Connecticut ) was an American Romanist , Hispanist and Lusitanist of Swiss origin.

life and work

Lang received his doctorate in Strasbourg in 1890 with the work (ed.) Cancioneiro d'el Rei Dom Denis [Cancioneiro d'el Rei Dom Diniz] (published out of T. From 1892 he made a career at Yale University , first as an instructor and assistant professor, from 1896 as a professor of Romance Philology and from 1906 to 1922 as Benjamin F. Barge Professor of Romance Languages ​​and Literatures. In 1915, Lang was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .
